Opening A Photo
In order to open a picture you go to file then open, you then pick your picture from the correct file.

Creating Text
To create text you go to the icon on the left hand side which shows a capital T, you then click where you wish to place your text and type.

 Issue date & Number
To create the issue number and the date in which the magazine was produced you insert the text in the same way as before but make it smaller.
 Inserting College Logo
To insert another picture or logo you go to file, open and click on the correct file in which your picture is you then click on your picture you wish to insert and it will appear in a new document in photoshop.

You then go to select, then All and you copy and paste the picture on to your main magazine cover.

You then make the picture smaller by going to edit, then free transform and you can make the image smaller.

You can move the logo by clicking on the top icon on the left hand side.

The Left Third is created by adding text which is used as teasers the reader.

 Creating a Splash/Flash
To create a splash or a flash you can use the shape tool, it can be found down the left hand side 18 down, a new bar opens up at he top with all the different options on, you need to click on the button which has a blog like shape on it. A menu then opens which is shown below and you can then pick the shape you wish to use as your splash or flash.

I created the smaller image at the bottom of the magazine spread by opening the picture like the main image then used the crop tool which is the 5th tool on the left hand side to chop of the top half of the picture. I then used free transform in the edit list to make the image smaller.
